Stone Age in Thailand

 
Prehistoric Thailand may be traced back as far as 1,000,000 years ago from the fossils and stone tools found in northern and western Thailand, an archaeological site in Lampang, northern Thailand. Homo erectus fossils, Lampang Man, dating back to between 1,000,000 – 500,000 years, have been discovered. Stone tools have been widely found in Kanchanaburi, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Lopburi etc. Many prehistoric cave-paintings have also been found in these regions, dating back 10,000 years.
 
Early Stone Age
The Lower Palaeolithic is the earliest subdivision of the Palaeolithic or Old Stone Age. It spans the time from around 2.5 million years ago, when the first craft and use of stone tools by hominids appears in the archaeological record, until around 120,000 years ago when important evolutionary and technological changes ushered in the Middle Palaeolithic.

Early species
The earliest hominids, known as Homo erectus and recognisable as human, appear in the archaeological record between 1,000,000 - 500,000 years ago. Locally typified by the fossil, Lampang Man.
About 1,000,000 years ago, Homo erectus moved on to Asia from Africa, where it had originated. Its use and control of fire was very important tool in its hunter-gatherer method of subsistence. Homo erectus's skull was smaller and thicker than that of modern human beings. It lived in the mouth of caves near streams or other water supplies. Its main natural enemies included the giant hyena Hyaena senesis, the sabre-toothed tiger, the orang-utan, and the giant panda.
In 1999, skull fragments of Homo erectus were found by Somsak Pramankit in Ko Kha, Lampang. It was comparable to the skull fossils of Sangiran II Man found in Java, (Java man), which is 400,000 - 800,000 years old, as well as Peking Man.

        Today is a first day about practice my teaching after final exam. This week I and my friends to be determined for teaching because have many days for practice. However, some people have exciting and to alternate about step of teaching. So, we must to try for practice more.
        This day have many topics about local such as tenth lunar mouth, material, Loi  krathong, make up and my topic is go green. Everybody present extremely and try to do. Moreover, we have many techniques for attract interesting of students. After that, teacher comment to we present because have many problems. Some people teaching not consistent with objective and wrong objectives. Teacher to suggest for students can write objective correctly with teaching. Then, we can improve about teaching to prefect more than this.

        In conclusion, I think is very important to write objective correctly with teaching because can make students to understanding and learning efficiency. So, we must use suggest of teacher to practice and try to good teaching in the future.

Industrial estate battles floodwater




THE AMATA NAKORN Industrial Estate in Chon Buri is facing a severe battle keeping out floodwaters, which have forced 15 factories in its compound to suspend operations.
Another 78 factories outside the protection of estates, mainly in the Northeast, have reportedly been inundated.

The factories in the Amata Nakorn estate are not under water, but have been temporarily closed because of the difficulties their employees are having getting to work.

Some public areas within the estate are inundated. The highest floodwater level is between 30 and 40 centimetres.

"We expect to drain all floodwater from the estate within one or two days, if no more rain comes," Amata Corporation's chief marketing officer Viboon Kromadit said yesterday.

With support from various agencies, more than 100 pumps are working hard to clear all the floodwater. Some 43 boats have also been commissioned to help facilitate the flow of water out of the estate.

Amata Corporation operates the Amata Nakorn estate.

Royal Irrigation Department deputy director-general Suthep Noipairoj said the industrial estate was located in a low-lying area that was prone to take in run-off water from nearby areas.

Suthep said that water drainage would need to be done carefully out of concern for local communities already struggling with floods in the face of high tides. "The industrial estate and authorities will have to minimise the impact on these communities," he said.

Meanwhile, Industry Ministry inspector-general Panithan Jindaphu said 78 factories outside the industrial estates had been flooded, mostly in the Northeast. He calculated the combined damage at about Bt85 million.

Of the total, 70 are small-scale businesses and eight are medium-sized.

These factories are located in 12 provinces: 11 in Ubon Ratchathani, 16 in Si Sa Ket, 13 in Nakhon Nayok, seven in Prachin Buri, five each in Chanthaburi and Chaiyaphum, six in Angthong, eight in Sa Kaew, two in Buri Ram, three in Nakhon Ratchasima and one each in Ayutthaya and Chachoengsao.

"Remedial measures will include waivers of licensing fees. We will also discuss with other agencies the offering of soft loans, as was done in 2011," Panithan said.

One day an elephant wandered into a forest in search of friends

He saw a monkey on a tree. 

“Will you be my friend?” asked the elephant. 

Replied the monkey, “You are too big. You can not swing from trees like me.” 

Next, the elephant met a rabbit. He asked him to be his friends

But the rabbit said, “You are too big to play in my burrow!” 

Then the elephant met a frog. 

“Will you be my friend? He asked. 

“How can I?” asked the frog. 

“You are too big to leap about like me.” 

The elephant was upset. He met a fox next. 

“Will you be my friend?” he asked the fox

The fox said, “Sorry, sir, you are too big.” 

The next day, the elephant saw all the animals in the forest running for their lives.

The elephant asked them what the matter was. 

The bear replied, “There is a tier in the forest. He’s trying to gobble us all up!” 

The animals all ran away to hide. 

The elephant wondered what he could do to solve everyone in the forest. 

Meanwhile, the tiger kept eating up whoever he could find. 

The elephant walked up to the tiger and said, “Please, Mr. Tiger, do not eat up these poor animals.” 

“Mind your own business!” growled the tiger

The elephant has a no choice but to give the tiger a hefty kick. 

The frightened tiger ran for his life. 

The elephant ambled back into the forest to announce the good news to everyone. 

All the animals thanked the elephant. 

They said, “You are just the right size to be our friend.”

Today, is the day of presentation about teaching.However have many people are not teaching because teacher must to comment for students understand infallibly and can improvement to be good more than this.So, many students must to teaching again after final exam.

first, before students start to presentation ,teacher explain about presentation fluent and how to make good presentation. when students present many people speak wrong vocabulary  and no confidence on presentation because  Feel the pressure and excitement. Most importantly is the purpose of writing does not match the content taught.So, teacher explain about how to write purpose for link with teaching for students can write objective correctly.

In conclusion, I thing everyone intent of presentation but feel the pressure and excitement.So, we must try to practice about presentation and practice about how to pronounce correctly. Moreover, practice about write lesson plan for can use in the future and appropriate to students abilities.

Learning Log 24 - Jun-2013

    Today,is the last presentation about method of teaching.Starting with Vocabulary Teaching.Next it is Pronounciation,Teaching English Using ICT,Culture Teaching and the last is Communicative Language Teaching.Each method have many technigue and give to the students success in the learning.Teaching can help about many problems to students and students can solution about it.So,it is very important in Teaching English.

    The first method is Vocabulary Teaching.It is about  use vocabulary in teaching .Students like to play games.So,teacher ca adapt games and vocabulary together.This technique can help students to understanding about the lesson.Start easy vocabulary to hard vocabulary.Then,this method give the teaching simple and clear.Vocabulary gives students to the building blocks to express their idea in speech and writing in the target language.

    The second is Pronounciation Teaching.This method is emphasize about pronouncing when students reading.Method can help students correctly in pronouncing.This method have two problems  is tend to be neglected and when it is not neglected. So ,teacher should teach students to understanding about the lesson correctly.When students pronouncing correctly they can use in daily life correctly.Then help to their learn.

    The third method is Teaching English Using ICT.It is about students learn and searching information from internet, chatting and games playing.This technique use authentic material in lesson for students can understanding that lesson.When teacher use technology in lesson can motivation about interesting of students.So,help to students use about technology in the lesson correctly.

The forth method is Culture Teaching.This method teaching by using culture from each country to teach students.So,each country many different of style.Sometimes students like to learn story around the world more than lesson in the classroom.Help to students motivation about knowledge outside the classroom.Now,the very important is Asean is coming.Then people in country of Asean must know about basic knowledge from each country.

    The last method is Communicative Language Teaching (CLT).This method teach about communicative for can use in daily life.Then,emphasize of students to learn for can use in the future.Interaction teacher and students and students together.Sometimes teacher can teach students from Role-Play because,students can understanding about lesson.CLT have three steps in teaching is Presentation Practice and Production.CLT is very important for learning English because can practice about their language in The Role -Play and communicative in daily life.

    Inconclution,I think all method can help teacher in many things.So,teacher must know about each method correctly for can understanding and can teach students correctly.Each method can adapt together.Teacher should teach students ti understanding because,in the future can use it.When teacher must have technique for teach students to understanding and can success in learning.Sometimes students like to use new technology to learning and motivation of students to understanding more than this.

Nearly half the titles read by children in a new national schools reading competition were read online, says literacy charity Booktrust.
Read for My School 2013 aimed to boost the numbers of primary pupils in England reading for pleasure.
Almost 100,000 nine to 11-year-olds, from 3,600 schools signed up.
"Children were sitting in their rooms using their iPads and Xboxes to read rather than for games," said Alison Keeley of Booktrust.
Between them, the children who took part read more than 400,000 books. Some 49% of these were read online from a free digital library of 46 titles from Penguin, Dorling Kindersley and Pearson.
A poll of their teachers suggested the e-library was particularly popular among boys and less-proficient readers.
"I think boys and poorer readers just prefer reading online. It's about making it different and more exciting, a different way to use their Xbox or iPad.
"The competition website allowed us to tell what format they were reading on. Some children were particularly motivated by the competition element", said Ms Keeley.
Comments from teachers suggested that suddenly the keenest readers "had their standing in class transformed", she added.
The competition, organised by Booktrust and The Pearson Foundation with support from the Department for Education, ran from January to March 2013.
Children had to log the books they read on the competition website and answer questions to prove that they had not just flicked through the pages.
They could choose from the 46 titles in the e-library or read any title they fancied in traditional book form as long as it fitted into one of eight competition categories.
The idea was to broaden children's reading tastes as they had to read at least one book from each category, ranging from "Laugh out Loud" funny reads to "Keep it Real" factual books and including history, animal stories , sci-fi, mystery and thrillers.
